Semi - Public Transport

Floating Mobility

Floating cities could soon become the new living space for millions of people and require a new mobility concept without individual transportation. The BMW Floating Mobility concept transfers the comfort of BMW cars to the water and offers semi-public transportation for BMW mobility customers in the future floating city. Large glass surfaces offer an excellent view, while spacious seating areas and a lounge invite you to relax or work. A wind-protected outdoor area at the rear allows passengers to enjoy the fresh sea air at full speed. Barrier-free access provides comfort for all passengers, including people with reduced mobility. Powered by electric motors and solar energy, the Floating Mobility concept enables emission-free and smooth operation.

Exterior

The 14-meter-long catamaran impresses with hulls that reach far out of the water along the bow and drop to ground level in the entrance area. The diamond shaped passenger compartment is mainly glazed. While the ceiling at the front of the catamaran is covered with solar panels, the rear area is completely glazed and thus offers an all-round view of the surroundings. A transparent sunshade at the rear protects the interior from sunlight and the exterior from wind.

Interior

The light-flooded interior is divided into different areas based on a passenger's individual journey time. High-quality materials and subtle accents reflect the BMW-typical standards of quality and comfort. The use of dark materials in the lower areas, which become increasingly lighter towards the top, creates a generous, warm atmosphere.
